Glenstocken Holiday Cottages are situated on the Galloway coast, South-west Scotland, approximately 40 miles west of Carlisle, 60 miles south of Glasgow, 70 miles south-west of Edinburgh.
Glenstocken from the South
Follow M1 north, cross the border into Scotland on the A74M and take the second exit, (after Gretna) signposted A75 Dumfries and Stranraer. On entering Dumfries follow signs marked Dalbeattie A711. Follow this road into Dalbeattie and turn right onto A710 signposted Rockcliffe. After 5 miles turn down to Rockcliffe, the Glenstocken turning is first left, please follow the road up to the main house.
Glenstocken from North
Follow A74 south taking the A701 towards Dumfries, enter Dumfries and follow signs to Dalbeattie on the A711 follow this road into Dalbeattie and turn onto A710 signposted Rockcliffe. After 5 miles turn down to Rockcliffe, the Glenstocken turning is first left, please follow the road up to the main house.
If coming from Glasgow area take the A76 south to Castle Douglas, go through town and take A710 towards Dalbeattie, before you enter Dalbeattie, take right turn onto A711 to Rockcliffe. Follow that road for 5 miles entering Colvend turn right to Rockcliffe and follow for half a mile and take first left to Glenstocken and follow road up to main house.
For a picturesque alternative route through rural coastal Galloway, south-west Scotland, from Dumfries take A710, coast road, which takes you along the beautiful Solway coast overlooking the Solway Firth to the Lake District. Follow this road to the turn towards Rockcliffe, take the first left turn into Glenstocken farm DG5 4QE.
